Dear Family,
Last Tuesday about 6:10 I was awakened by my bed shaking, the first thing I thought it was, was Elder Cox trying to get me up. I told him to cut it out and he said he wasn't doing anything. About that time the elders in the other room were in ours. We all just looked at each other as everything around us shook. It almost go to the point where we thought we should head for cover, but then it started to mellow out and pretty soon it was over. It was District meeting that morning and we arrived late so we blamed it on the earthquake saying we had to turn things right side up and rescue our neighbors! But they didn't believe us. Later we found out it registered 6.2 on the rictor scale, beating the one I had felt about a year ago that was 5.3. So it was an exciting way to start our week.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights I was able to attend Saturday's Warriors. I was only planning on attending one night with our investigators but the way it turned out I was the all hree nights. I had a chance to see Sister Craig from Kotzebue, which was nice but it was great to have some investigators there because it was really good. It was performed by a local cast and most of the people I knew. They did it just like they were professionals. Our investigators loved it also.
One of our contacts that was there was Rodger Graves We had only taught him once and he liked the play. So we set up an appointment to teach him Sunday night. He was there at church so we had time to talk with him there, but when we taught him that night the spirit was so thick you could have cut it with a knife. I knew before we were to leave that I was to challenge him and set a date. I did and he accepted, then he related to us his feelings. He said the first time he walked through the doors to attend church he said there was a feeling he had never felt anything like that. Even when we were coming over for the first time he sensed something different and after we challenged him he said that, yet he has found the truth. So the 28th we are going to be having our 2nd baptism here.
Kim Russell we baptized again but this time with the right name. It also was a special occasion.
Well keep me informed on what's happening and tell me how Lorin does in his game.
Love, Daren
