Fairbanks October 27, 1982

Dear Family,
So how was your trip to Indian Creek? Was it a successful hunt? I know that there is one big buck up there because Grandpa saw it last year and if you didn't get it I guess I will have to get it myself next year.
I hope that you did have a good hunt. If there is anything that I really miss it is the time that we spend together up at Indian Creek. I really don't have much time to think about it though, I am always thinking about what we are going to do next and how we can get people interested in our message.
It finally stopped snowing and now we are experiencing the cold weather. It got down to 10-15 below zero last night and it only supposed to warm up to 0' today. It isn't as cold as it is going to get but it is sure on its way.
Elder Kroneberger has been having a hard time with his back so we went to the doctor to have him checked out. The doc told him to run every day and do sit ups etc. to strengthen the muscles up in his back and stomach. Usually we wouldn't have went to the doctor but he has had a disc removed and we didn't want him to be messing his back up worse by playing b-ball.
I have been trying to get something worked out to where I could be working out and maybe lose some of this spare tire around my waist but I just haven't gotten around to it, but now since it is an order from the doc I am going to be working out with Elder K. It's really bad, I can hardly fit in my pants anymore and I spend a lot of time sewing them back up! I weight over 180 lbs now, I'm not trying to make you think I am an overweight slob because I'm not. I'm still lean, though and can woop on my older and younger brothers anytime!
This week as far as missionary work goes wasn't as good as others, we didn't get the discussions like we should have or the harvest hours, but that just gives us an incentive to work harder next week. We have been having a hard time also with our investigators that were scheduled for baptism. We had 6 scheduled for baptism but only two came through. The others weren't really as converted as they should have been and they let temporal things get in their way. We are still going to work with them but not as hard as we were. WE are going to spend more time looking for those who are really searching.
Well, I really hate to use another piece of paper and not write a whole bunch on it but I couldn't fit my name on the bottom of that last piece of paper.
I love you and you have fun hunting, recovering, getting married and going to school, working and being a super house wife.

p.s. Something really big just happened to me, all those things that I said I would be doing to lose weight, well I know I won't be doing them here in Fairbanks. Last night President Papa called me and told me I would be serving in Nome, Alaska. It really shocked me because I never thought that I would be the one to be getting transferred.
It came so fast. Last night he called about 10:30 and I was supposed to be on a the plane the next morning, I spent all night packing. So don't be sending anything to my old address, send them to:
