Dear Family,
Well here I am "above the Artic circle". It's really no differennt than Nome, except that the sun doesn't even come up here, it just gets a little light during the day and then it's dark. My new companion is Elder Hartshorn and he is from Northern Idaho so we get along alright, but still it's hard to adjust from one comp to another. When I first got here he was telling me how cold it is here, saying that it is the coldest! But the first day I got here it rained!! But it has cooled off now and we are having normal temps again.
Basically what we have been doing is getting me introduced to the members here and our investigators. It is always hard to start in a new area, sometimes I wish I were back in Nome. But I am sure I will get to know the people here just as well.
So it sounds as if everyone has had a good Christmas and I hope a Happy New Year also. We had a big dinner at the church here New Year's Eve and then after that we came home and talked until the new year was here and then we went to bed. Sound exciting?
Thanks again fro the wonderful Christmas you gave me, that phone call home really made my day and I don't know if I will be sending that hair dryer home because I have been using it.
Mom, Dad, again thanks for all you have done, also thanks the Murdocks for me.
Well I guess I better 'go brave the storm." haha
I love you all!
Elder Daren Wilding
