Fri. morning we had a surprise phone call from Pres. Pap asking us if he could visit us. So Sat and Sun we spent with Pres Papa. It was so good to see him and have him around. He wanted to meet some of our investigators and see how things were going for us.
We thought since things weren't going so hot that he would close the area but when I was talking with him said he 'feels an urgency to teach and share the gospel: with the natives here. So it sounds as though missionaries are going to be here awhile.
He also toldme that I'm not going to be here forever so I figured next transfer I will be going somewhere else. But that won't be till the end of the month.
Here are a couple pictures that people have given me, with the Eskimo ladies in their parkas taken here in Kotzebue and the carabou taken just outside of Nome. You can see how barren the country is but still a lot of animals.
We had a chance this last Sun. to see conference and it was really god to hear the speakers and feel of their Spirit. It's funny how you grow up with something and never appreciate it until it's gone, or you're separated from it.
The sun is staying up longer now but it hasn't started to warm up yet it still gets well below 0' at right. I'm sure looking forward to that warm weather that should be coming one of these days.
Well, take care.
Love, Daren
