Dear Family,
Well here I am in Nome, Alaska and I'm not quite sure why I am here. Pres. Papa did it again, he moved two Elders out and moved Elder Morrison and I in. The first couple days were really hard because we only knew one family that was members and we didn't know if we had any investigators or not. I am starting to get the feel of things now and we do have 2 investigators.
Nome is right by the ocean and is basically flat. The wind is always blowing and there is about 3000 people here in town. I'm sure that things will work out and we will have some success.
The proselyting is different here, what we have to do is get in with the community. So we are trying to get in with the community basketball program. We can't hardly do any tracting like we used to do because it would wear the area out in just a few days.
So it sounds as if you had a successful hunt this year. I sure hope that you took some pictures because I would like to see what everyone got.
Hey, congratulations Tommy!! That's neat that you got a deer your first year, I'll be you have quite the story to tell now! How many deer total were taken out of Indian Creek?
Another thing that is really strange here is it gets dark so soon, right now it's 3:30 in the afternoon and it's getting dark.
Well that's great that theey are going to get Dad back to work because you wouldn't believe prices up here. Milk - $6 a gallon, bread - $2.50 a loaf. I hope that I didn't scare you with those prices but I still think I will be able to keep my costs down. We have some really neat members here that take good care of the missionaries.
I gave some volunteer help along with the other Elders to the drama club down in Fairbanks and they put our names in the program and gave us free tickets.
Well I hope the best for you always, I love you, Elder Daren Wilding
