Fairbanks October 13, 1982

Dear Family,
Well it's winter up here now, last week it snowed about a foot and I love it
Things have been going real good. Last Sunday Elder Kroneberger and I had 2 baptisms! They were Chris Hayden who is 18 and Andy Copping who is 29. Andy was an interesting story, last Tuesday he arrived in town and decided he wanted to be baptized so he called us. After we had picked ourselves up off the floor we asked him where he had come from. He is an English man and has that strong English accent. His home is in England but he travels a lot and was down in Provo for awhile and that is where he became associated with the church. We really had to teach him fast because he was planning on leaving in about a week.  Well we baptized him and I confirmed him, it was my first confirmation and I was nervous but when I was giving it I knew that the Holy Ghost was guiding me in my words. It was one of the most spiritual baptisms that I have ever been to.
Also Don McUmby who was baptized last December received the Melchizedek priesthood. His wife has been a member the last 14 years and has always been waiting for the day that Don would join the church and they could be sealed in the temple.  He was confirmed at the baptism and Sister McUmby was so happy. I don't think that there was a dry eye in the whole room, it was great!
So how are things in Pocatello? Have they got Dad set up with another part time job? I'm sure that the Lord is watching out for you and blessing you for what you do.
Thanks again, I love you all!  Elder Daren Wilding
